What to expect

Coming into KenSci

Don’t be surprised if you see a doctor coding hard, a developer tackling an intense math problem or a data scientist donning the product management hat. We’re all solving the same problem at the end of the day; and we do it with an oomph factor that manifests envy among our peers (or so we’ve been told).

Your first hour at work

We know you’re joining us today! So prepare to make your way through the welcoming committee and collect your on-boarding kit, which has everything you need to get started and tons of swag!

What your first day at KenSci is like

  • Requires travel (80% or more) throughout North America (frequent, often short-noticed travel)

  • Knowledge of clinical & business processes in the clinic, physician practice, Hospital or post-acute setting is required

  • Previous healthcare technology implementation experience is a must.

  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time (working under tight timelines and conflicting schedules)

  • Excellent communication skills, documentation skills

  • Intermediate Knowledge of databases, computer systems.


  • Conduct business process study to determine all customer process and data needs to address in project scope.

  • Consultant role with the KenSci and customer project leads in making decisions in defining new or updating current goals/workflows for usage of KenSci platform efficiently in the customer setup.

  • Document workflows for unique scenarios of the practice.

  • Develops testing & training plan and delivers training to practice staff and physicians.

  • Coordinate and provide Super User application training

  • Identifying workflow/setup related red flags to the project and support teams and provides regular status reports to key stakeholders and end users.

  • Drives resolution to end user issues. Works with all parties to prioritize issues and advise on solutions.

  • Focused group training and supports appropriate use of the platform, utilizing expert knowledge of the clinical workflows in inpatient & outpatient setup.

  • Works with physicians, business staff and other clients to understand and research customization requests.

  • Support client through go-live process and play key role in promoting solution adoption

  • Act as subject matter expert to support technical resources, and other members of project team

  • Build Power BI based analytics for both descriptive and predictive datasets.

  • Work with data scientists, engineers and clinicians to create insightful actionable analytical tools for both internal and external use.

  • Create solution templates and processes to facilitate and automate the rapid ingestion and transformation of data into Power BI files.

  • Engage directly with customers to optimize design, demonstrate insights, and educate on usage of Power BI and KenSci’s AI platform.

  • Lead KenSci’s use of Power BI and serve as an internal resource for best practices, latest product innovations and product roadmap.


  • A body of work that clearly demonstrates analytical insight, empathy, and an ability to tackle complex problems on behalf of users.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Microsoft Power BI or similar tools to address enterprise level analytical requirements.

  • Ability to develop complex data models using Power Query and Power BI’s ETL capabilities, and extensive knowledge of DAX.

  • Expertise in Transact SQL and/or Excel. Other desirable experience includes knowledge of R, Python, QGIS or ArcGIS, TypeScript or JavaScript.

  • Experience in working with diverse groups stakeholders (internal or external) and facilitating consensus

  • Previous roles in healthcare are not required, but a strong ability to (and interest in) learning the details of working with healthcare data is necessary.
